In het najaar van 2009 opereerden Pr. Greta De Reymaeker (orthopedist), Dr. Alexandra Willems (anesthesist), Jos Swinnen (OK verpleegkundige) en Marianne Snijkers (zaalverpleegkundige) de kinderen met botproblemen in Boko.
In het najaar van 2009 opereerden Pr. Greta De Reymaeker (orthopedist), Dr. Ginette Biquet (anesthesist), Françoise Castermans (OK verpleegkundige) en Gaëlle Van Nieuwenhoven (zaalverpleegkundige) vele kinderen met onder andere klompvoeten in het gehandicaptencentrum van Lubumbashi.
Ook eind 2009 ging Griet naar Afrika om foto's te nemen van onze teams aan het werk. Hier vindt u een selectie van de mooiste foto's.

As soon as the security situation permitted it, on February 28th Bernadette Sterpin, Krista Vandenborre, Dr. Thierry Chevolet and Dr. ClaudeDesaive once more left on a mission, to help the people in East-Congo. A team of RTBF (French speaking Television broadcasting corporation in Belgium) accompanied them to document everything on film.

The vulnerable region of the Great Lakes can’t seem to find the time for redress. The ongoing conflict in Congo, and the aftermath of the genocide in Rwanda and Burundi have severely impacted health care in this region.
